What people say about The No OM Zone
There would be no No OM Zone without all of you. The No OM Zone book and DVD are all about making yoga fun and accessible for you. So I’m happy when you take a minute and let me know what you think. Thank you, so much!

Who doesn’t sit at a computer all day? I just got the No Om disk and it’s a keeper–because I sit at the computer all day. I don’t have time a lot of times to get out to exercise. No Om Zone has three different SHORT yoga routines. I’m already slipping them in, here and there, during the day. Kimberly Fowler, whose DVD this is, is straightforward and knows her stuff. And she doesn’t get all precious about doing yoga. It’s great for athletes. You don’t have to know anything about yoga, either. Fowler has nice form. And if her body is any evidence of what keeping on top of the workouts means, I’m there.
This a great yoga DVD for all of us who need a workout and do not have hours to spend getting to and from classes. I did the core workout and felt immediate relief from some achy back stuff caused by not pushing away from the holiday table enough and gym avoidance. Ms. Kimberly did a great job of demonstrating the poses and encouraging students to work at own pace through monitoring breathe and flexibility. I was able to do the session, feel results but not feel like I’m going to suffer as I took her advice and practiced with awareness of my breathe and my own flexibility which is embarrassingly…stiff! I loved it. So glad I have this. A refreshing accessible video without the crazy overproduction I’ve seen in others. Clean and onpoint. Yeah!!!
I’ve enjoyed Kimberly’s Yoga for Athletes DVD for the past couple of years, and The No Om Zone does not disappoint! It’s great for the busy, Type A, athlete/professional. She offers practice options accessible to everyone and very efficient. I’ll be using this DVD in hotels so I can take my yoga practice on the road with me. Thanks, Kimberly!
Excellent yoga DVD that allows you to concentrate on three different body areas. I like the fact that you can combine the three for a full body workout or just concentrate on an area (I enjoy the Core workout) that you want to work on. It’s great for leaving in the DVD player and throughout the day turning it on to do a quick 15 minute workout to help relieve the stress and stretch the muscles.
I love this DVD for when I travel…mostly because I don’t have a set schedule or often time to go to the gym at a hotel and don’t want to experiment with bad yoga classes in foreign places…so this DVD is perfect with 3 separate 15 minute workouts that I can space throughout the day with my busy traveling schedule…Thanks for thinking of us type As who still love yoga Kimberly!
I have been waiting for a new yoga DVD from Kimberly and I have to say that this one delivers. (I also ought to say that I helped in its making.) But she is so on point with the 15-minute workouts. I don’t know about you but sometimes that is all the time I have. Thank you Kimberly for putting out another quality DVD. Keep them coming! (and I’ll help
My Yoga for Athletes DVD is worn out so I am excited “The No OM Zone” is available, especially in time for Christmas!! I love that it consists of 3 different videos for the upper body, core, and lower body. That way if I need a quick workout or feel like I need to focus a little more on my core because of all the Christmas cookies I can focus on that part of the DVD. I am going to buy it for my mom as a stocking stuffer because she keeps saying she would like to try yoga but is intimidated. This will be a great introductory for her so she can learn some of the terms and poses before going to her first class!
Kimberly Fowler’s The No OM Zone Yoga Workouts is a fitness DVD designed to make yoga workouts accessible to all viewers – neither superhuman flexibility nor endless chanting are required! The No OM Zone consists of three fifteen-minute workouts, each focusing on a different portion of the body – the upper body, the core, and the lower body. Former pro triathlete, cancer survivor, and motivational speaker Kimberly Fowler is the viewer’s guide to this fun and easy-to-follow introduction to the benefits of a solid yoga workout. 53 minutes 25 seconds.
I must own 20 yoga DVDs at this point and I thought that I had found my favorites until I bought this one. Kimberly Fowler’s attitude and personality is addicting and the workouts are FUN!!! They are each 15 minutes long, just enough to do in the morning and at night. I am SO in love with the DVD that I am going to reserve the companion book that is being released July 6th, I can’t wait!!
I was a little hesitant about buying a yoga dvd, but I needed a refresher course in order to do some routines at home. This is very straight forward instruction, no background music, she doesn’t bark orders at you, and it’s actually more peaceful because there is no distracting elements. The 15 minute workouts are perfect for me because I can pause and make the routine last as long as I want. I would recommend this dvd to anyone new to yoga, and even those who have experienced live yoga instruction and don’t want to pay $50-$100 a month for classes. Yoga really is a great workout and for those who have the motivation to do a workout 4-5 times a week, you will see results.
As a relatively new Yogi, reading “The No Om Zone” has really helped to improve my practice. It provides a level of instruction that can often be hard to get in a packed yoga class. It is chock full of photos that have been very useful in understanding the exact positioning of each body part during a pose. I feel my alignment has definitely improved since reading the book. Also, anatomy and physiology are discussed in a very useful, easy-to-understand manner, not in the cumbersome, overwhelming way of many fitness books. Lastly, as an Executive with a very hectic schedule, the 8 minute workout routines are a godsend!
I read “The No Om Zone” in two days cover to cover! As someone who has been practicing Yoga for over 11 years I found the book informative on so many levels. The anatomy and physiology, quick-fix tips and the 8 minute workout routines have added a new layer to my practice. The book is dedicated “To anyone who has ever stood outside a yoga class looking for a way in…” and this book not only speaks to the new Yogi, but to the true Yogi in all of us. I recommend this book highly to anyone and consider it as valuable as my mat in my quest for well-being! Kimberly Fowler has done it again by bringing yoga to the masses with a no non sense approach that produces results! No OM Zone: A No-Chanting, No-Granola, No-Sanskrit Practical Guide to Yoga
The NO OM Zone doubles as a consice written introduction for new yoga students and a more detailed guide for the more experienced student. Whether you are looking to enhance your current practice or gain a better understanding of the yoga basics, this book is a perfect way to do both because it cuts out all of the BS you find in a lot of yoga books and gets straight to the point – what are the benefits, what should I be focusing on, how is my body working in this pose, what muscles am I using, etc. You don’t need to be wrapping your legs around your head to be a hard-working, successful yoga student, and this book shows you exactly how you can kick your own butt in a safe way!
Having done been involved in athletics all my life this book is a life saver. I started doing yoga several years ago to help with my runners knee but I never found a good straight forward book…until now. Not only does it break each pose down but gives you the benefits. The breakdowns of each muscles group gives the reader a clear understanding of the body. Recommended for any athlete, trainer, yogi or yogini that wants to know benefits of yoga with out all the nonsense.
As a competitive athlete I spend many years in gyms gaining strength. As a physical therapist I spend many boring hours maintaining muscle balance through stretching. When I was introduced to YAS by a friend 6 years ago, I knew I had found my type of yoga. Boring weight and stretching workouts have been replaced with a sound, fun and practical approach to yoga. The No Om Zone is fabulous. It’s a guide to injury free, fun, effective yoga. Broken down into body regions, and mini workouts. It’s an informative book, easy to read and understand. A guide to novice and advanced yogis, it can help jumpstart a practice, or maintain a practice on the go. Some of the mini workouts can serve as an adjunct to other training routines and will benefit all athletes.
Kimberly Fowler has revolutionized yoga by making it non threatening, accessible and practical to all. This book will be a sure present for many of my clients and friends! Thank you Kimberly for keeping us healthy!
This is a great book for yoga enthusiasts or beginners who look for a straightforward and informative breakdown of some of the most beneficial poses for working all parts of the body. The `tips’ are fantastic. The book is an excellent tool for people that want to do yoga but may not have the time to make it into the studio three to five times a week to practice.
Just received this book in the mail. Thank God! It came just in time. I had been on a retreat over the weekend and came home stiff as a board after an overnight adventure sleeping on a floor mat. Couldn’t move my neck. I’m an experienced Massage Therapist and know the body very well so I knew what was happening anatomically. I used Ms. Fowler’s section on the neck (chapter two) to help relieve my tension and pain. Honestly I wasn’t expecting such a nice set of illustrations and I was thrilled to see such clear and accessible pics of the yoga positions. I highly recommend this book to everyone interested in yoga and it’s benefits to long term healthcare. Also her tip about keeping animals in a separate room made me laugh until my cat decided to plop down next to me and spread her fur. Wise words. I look forward to using this book as a resource for clients and friends…hope you do too!
This is a well written and informational yoga book. Being a newbie to yoga, I found this book so easy to follow. Kimberly’s has inspired me to add more yoga into my life. I’m a full time mom with three kids and doing the yoga poses that Kimberly suggest helps my stress level. My son is starting 9th grade and will be playing football. He read the book as well and has started doing yoga with me. I’m so hooked that I ordered the DVD for me and my kids. I want to thank Kimberly for writing a yoga book that speaks to all of us. Please write more books! I am one happy Mom thanks to you and your book.
I started my yoga practice at another local studio that spent a lot of time on the sun salutations and teaching the sanskrit names for poses. Being new to yoga, this turned me off because I never knew what the instructor was talking about. He’d say “now lets go into schnamamana pose” and I’d have no idea what he was talking about. That and the fast pace in which he threw out these names while transitioning in and out of different poses led me to several injuries. As I am a driven person, I didn’t want to quit without mastering these classes but what I didn’t know was that it was causing shoulder, knee and hip injury. When I read Kimberly Fowler’s “The No Om Zone” I really gained an understanding of my body anatomy, why I injured my shoulders at the other yoga studio and what I can do to facilitate any future injuries from sports back to health. I highly recommend this book if you’re interested in learning about your body and what yoga poses you can do to counteract your everyday issues – sitting at a desk or driving all day long, carpel tunnel syndrome, sciatica or lower back issues etc.
Kimberly Fowler’s No Om Zone is easy to understand and simple to implement. If you have been practicing yoga for a while there are many great details and tips on how different poses work and what the benefits are. If you are a beginner, this is a no nonsense, easy to understand, guide to Yoga that won’t leave you baffled or intimidated. Either way, this is a perfect way to deepen your knowledge of Yoga and your own body.
Even though I’m a fitness professional, I was always a little turned off by yoga. I thought it was clicky, confusing and competitive… which you might think is surprising coming from personal trainer with the name “Zen”. A friend of mine suggested that I try Kimberly Fowler’s class at YAS in Venice, CA ([...])…. and I’m so glad that I did. Fowler herself is an eloquent and classy powerhouse of a woman who inspires immediately when you step into her studio. But then she turned on low key rock music and taught a great class in straight-forward English that was supportive, fun and non-judgmental. I was hooked.
Fowler’s book, “The No Om Zone”, reflects her teaching style which is from the viewpoint of an athlete. She talks about the correct alignment of the body to prevent injury and tells you the benefit of each pose in clear language. I appreciate that she went through years and years of training with all the discipline of any yogi, but translates this work into exercise, stretching and breath work that even a newbie can understand. I like that she provides easy and difficult alternatives to poses so a person at any fitness level can benefit. If you’ve ever been tight or achy but thought yoga just “wasn’t for you”, you’ve got to pick up this book.

Great video, easy but effective. I’ve been doing yoga for years but wanted my husband to try something more in his taste level and this was perfect.
Kimberly Fowler’s The No Om Zone is a truly beneficial guide for anyone wanting to understand yoga in a simple, deconstructed form. It takes the intimidation factor out of learning traditional yoga poses, and how each pose benefits you. Before reading this book, yoga for me was frustrating – I just didn’t get it. I needed it broken down into its basic form. After reading Kimberly’s book, I am a convert, I “get it”, and I even decided to become a yoga instructor! The book is very educational and packed with information on our body, how to prevent an injury, yet explains how to deal with an existing injury. And each body part is given its own personal workout routine. Brilliant! Its very accessible, very simple and very effective!! I’m glad I entered the No Om Zone.
Am new to yoga and had no interest in chanting while I learned! Kimberly Fowler’s DVD was recommended in one of the health magazines and it lives up to the recommendation. She explains each move, how/when to breath, and the part of the body targeted. Her tone is soothing and there’s no annoying chanting or music. I also purchased the accompanying book for additional instruction. Well worth the price.
Awesome new video. Love the core section especially. That is an area I always have been weak on and hate to work, but the 15 min section you have is great. It will be the first thing in my suitcase on my next biz trip in a couple weeks. Later in the year I think I am going to be near one of your studios (Silverlake) on a biz trip and will definitely try to get into a class since I have never been to a formal class!
I was running late, so I missed my yoga class. It was great to have The No Om Zone DVD! I worked in your core practice. The eagle crunches are evil!
Hi there Kimberly,
i ordered your new dvd a couple of weeks ago and hey presto when i came home from work today guess what was shoved through the letterbox….
woo hoo, after a 30 min easy run i opened THE NO OM ZONE wth gusto and i have to say it was GREAT.
it is perfect for me as you talked me through the whole 3 workouts.
i do work full time and like most women are responsible for the running of the household and looking after evryone, i do have YOGA FOR ATHLETES also, but THE NO OM ZONE is a bit more gentle.
